Turning Internships into Careers in Commercial Real Estate
Financial constraints are one of the most frequent barriers for students entering the industry. PREA Foundation’s scholarships address this by directly funding the moments that make career entry possible. These funds support undergraduate and graduate students who have already secured internship placements through PREA Foundation grantee programming but need financial assistance to participate. Funding is used toward:- Housing and relocation costs for summer internships
- Travel and living expenses in high-cost markets
- Conference access, including PREA’s Spring and Fall Conferences
- Early-career exposure to firms, networks, and industry leaders
Ambrose Opportunity Scholarship Program
The Ambrose × PREA Foundation Opportunity Scholarship Program provides annual internship scholarships through 2030, made possible by a $1 million commitment from Ambrose. The program focuses on a simple but critical gap, students who have earned internship placements through PREA Foundation programs but may not have the financial means to accept them. These scholarships help cover the costs that often stand in the way, so students can take the opportunity they’ve worked for and begin building their careers in commercial real estate. Students must:- Have accepted an internship through a PREA Foundation-supported program
- Demonstrate financial need
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
The Gail Haynes Scholarship Fund
The Gail Haynes Scholarship Fund honors a legacy of leadership while expanding opportunity for the next generation of commercial real estate professionals. After more than 30 years as President of PREA, Gail Haynes left a lasting impact on the institutional real estate industry and the people within it. Established in recognition of her commitment to developing future talent, the Fund was made possible through a generous $1M gift from PREA and an additional $1M from leaders across the industry. It provides need-based financial support to students interning with institutional investors (LPs), helping fund their summer internships and enabling them to attend PREA conferences.Get Involved
